Lori J. Occhialini-Jacobsen

February 20, 1971 — December 23, 2024

HOLDEN - Lori J. (Duquette) Occhialini-Jacobsen, 53, beloved wife of Craig S. Jacobsen, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by her loving family after an unexpected, aggressive battle with gallbladder cancer.

Born in Worcester and raised in Holden, she was the daughter of Ronald and Susan (Winkelmann) Duquette. She was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, Class of 1989. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Worcester State College in 1993. She loved to work on and restore old homes, something that she spent her early 20’s doing.

Lori worked in accounting for most of her life. At the age of 18, she took a job at ECC Corporation in Jefferson, MA, and over many years, worked her way through the ranks of the accounting department, with the help of her friend and mentor Ken. Later, she held a couple of local accounting jobs, and most recently worked for ARCHway, Inc. and McAuley Nazareth, Inc. in Leicester, MA as a Bookkeeper and HR Assistant. She made several lifelong friends during these years.

She met her current husband Craig at the age of 32, with the help of her dad. Their 20th anniversary would have been this September 2025. She and Craig raised three wonderful sons together and built a simple and wonderful home. Family meant everything to Lori. She and Craig enjoyed spending time together taking hikes, eating out, and taking days off from work for a date.

In her spare time, Lori enjoyed reading, walking, hiking, watching the backyard wildlife, crafting, listening to classic 80’s music, and spending time with her friends and family. She loved taking family vacations, many of which were in Wells, Maine where she loved to be by the ocean. Lori’s greatest joy was being a mom to her boys and guiding them through all of their activities whether it was schoolwork, Boy Scouts, or helping them with important decisions. Her boys were always her priority, and she was always there for them.

Lori will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband Craig Jacobsen of Holden; her boys Joseph Occhialini of Rutland, Thomas Jacobsen of Holden, and Gabriel Jacobsen of Holden, her parents Ronald and Susan Duquette of Holden, her sister Lisa Marks and her family of Holden, and her brother David Duquette and his family of Nashua, New Hampshire. She leaves many dear friends, and some that will be forever part of her family including Tanya, Sonya, Linda, Rob and Julie. She leaves her cat Sammy who was always by her side during her illness.

Lori’s family deeply appreciates the wonderful care and support provided by the oncology teams at Marlboro Hospital Cancer Clinic and Dana Farber of Newton.
