PRINCETON - Lori (Ward) Cullen, 64, died peacefully at home on November 11th surrounded by the loving presence of her family. Lori was born in Worcester, the daughter of Leonard and Jean (Perkins) Ward, and was a lifelong resident of Central Massachusetts.
She had an over 40-year career as a Microbiologist at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, focusing on exploratory research. Through the years Lori enjoyed Ballroom Dancing with her husband, being a Girl Scout Leader, a Special Olympics Coach, and attending live performances with her family.
Lori will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband, Stephen Cullen of Princeton, her son, lan McGinnes and his wife, Alex Krasowski of Worcester; her daughters, Sara (McGinnes) Sweeney and her husband, Gary Sweeney of Tampa, FL and Heather McGinnes of Princeton; her father and stepmother Leonard and Lois Ward; her brothers, Jeffrey Ward and James Ward; her sister, Lisa Matta; her stepdaughters Kelly Prefontaine, Christine Leger, Carolyn Cullen and many, many, many, dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Lori's life on Friday, November 18th, from 5-7 p.m. at
Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, MA. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Lori's memory may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Research online at dana-farber.org/gift.
