HOLDEN – Loretta C. (McGuire) Johnson of 576 Reservoir Street, died Sunday, April 25, 2004, in Holden Nursing Home after a long illness.
Her husband of 56 years, Eino E. Johnson, died in 1991. She leaves two sons, Richard E. Johnson and his wife, Mary Ellen of Holden, and Peter M. Johnson of Sterling, Alaska; a daughter, Joanne L. Zumwalde and her husband, John F. of Arlington, Virginia; five grandchildren, John R. Zumwalde of Sicklerville, New Jersey, David R. Zumwalde and Diane McKee, both of Arlington, Virginia, Mark Zumwalde of Leesburg, Virginia, and Kelley L. Johnson of Weston, Florida; and four great-grandchildren. She was born in Worcester the daughter of Irish immigrants, Michael J. and Catherine (Kiely) McGuire, and lived over 70 years in Holden.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson, and loved her Irish heritage.
The funeral for Mrs. Johnson will be held Friday, April 30, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 29, in the funeral home.
