RUTLAND – Robert Lloyd Mosher, 76, of Village Way, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2010 in Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester after an illness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Jane M. (Kissel) Mosher; a son, Mark R. Mosher of Mass.; two sisters, Connie Johns and her husband Robert of Henderson, North Carolina and Elizabeth Salmon of Worcester; two grandchildren, Melissa and Robert Mosher; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dillon and Danny; and three brothers-in-law, John Kissel of Windsor, Connecticut, C. Richard Wagner of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and Robert F. Wagner of Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester the son of Lloyd M. and Eunice (Johnston) Mosher and lived 50 years in Rutland.
Mr. Mosher served in the Merchant Marines and was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He then worked as a truck driver for Henley Lundgren Corp. retiring after more than 25 years of service. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 170 in Worcester and the Douglas E. Hicks VFW Post 7389 in Westminster. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, reading, watching the "Patriots" games and especially loved his cat, Tiger.
Friends and family are invited to attend a calling hour from 12 noon to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 20th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
