Lloyd Wilbur Olson

April 23, 1939 — December 18, 2024

WORCESTER - Lloyd W. Olson, 85, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. Born on April 23, 1939, in Worcester, MA, Lloyd was the son of the late Carl A. and Alice V. (Skarberg) Olson.

Lloyd attended Worcester Public Schools and graduated from Commerce High School. After high school, Lloyd enlisted in the Air Force National Guard, proudly serving his country. Following his service, Lloyd spent many years working in the family's commercial laundry business, Goodwill Laundry. Many employees, tenants and customers enjoyed his unwavering commitment to provide the family's "goodwill". He also worked as a truck driver for small family businesses within the city for many years. A profession that allowed him to travel the region, being the face of the company to many and providing that same goodwill to those he met along the way.

In 1964, Lloyd met Susan (Wright) Olson, the love of his life. The two shared a deep bond, and they were married for 60 years, building a beautiful life together filled with love, joy, and shared memories.

He is predeceased by his parents, brother Elwood and his wife Jane, sisters Shirley Larson and her husband Bob and Phyllis Kelliher and her husband Bob.

Lloyd is survived by his beloved wife, Susan, and his dear children, Scott Olson and his wife Jill of Apex, North Carolina and Mark Olson and his wife Kimberly of Hampton, New Hampshire. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Cloe, Hope and Ella, his siblings Kenneth Olson, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless beloved friends.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by his funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street Holden, MA 01520. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.

Lloyd's family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the kindness, love, and strength he brought to the lives of those who knew him.
