HOLDEN – Ronald L. Lorrain, 65, of Bailey Road, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 21, 2008, after a brief illness.
He leaves his beloved wife of 43 years, Phyllis A. (Hermanson) Lorrain; a son, Dale R. Lorrain and his wife Erin of Holden; a daughter, Holly A. Giza and her husband Matthew of Holden; a brother, Paul Lorrain and his wife Jane of Plymouth; five grandchildren, Matthew, Sydney, and Reese Lorrain, Nicholas and Ryan Giza; nephews and nieces. He was born in Tyngsboro, the son of J. Louis and Helen L. (Webster) Lorrain, raised in Hyannis, and lived 38 years in Holden.
Ron graduated from Barnstable High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War era. He owned and operated "Ron Lorrain Electrician" in Holden for 35 years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of Chaffin Congregational Church and the Nimrod Club, both in Holden, and the Rufus Putnam Lodge of Masons in Rutland. He enjoyed many hobbies including snowmobiling, boating, scuba diving and restoring trucks and snowmobiles. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral service for Ron will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24th, in the funeral home with burial will following in Grove Cemetery, 1290 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UMass Memorial Hospice, 650 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605; or Chaffin Congregational Church, 155 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520.
