WEST BOYLSTON- Lisa Rae (Peterson) Cooke, 59, died peacefully at UMASS Memorial Medical Center- University Campus on Friday, April 21st, 2017. She was born in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Wesley Lambert Peterson and Ruth (Hanson) Peterson. Lisa grew up in Auburn, MA and later moved to West Boylston, MA where she resided for 21 years.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 24 years, Thomas J. Cooke of West Boylston; her daughter, Kara Cooke of West Boylston and her stepdaughter, Alicia of West Boylston; her sisters, Elime Rheume and her husband, David Rheume of Charlton, and Kristen Varian and her husband, Barry Varian on Brandon, VT; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lisa graduated from Auburn High school in 1957. She went on to earn an associate’s degree in secretarial studies from Dean Jr. College in Franklin, MA. Lisa worked as a secretary at UMASS Memorial for 12 years. She loved to spend her time outdoors, whether it be at the beach in Gloucester or camping with her husband in Plymouth. Lisa also loved to shop with her family in Rockport.
