HOLDEN - Linnea C. (Aronson) Carlson, 90, of 22 Slipper Hill Lane, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2004, in the Holden Nursing Home after a short illness.
Her husband of 39 years, Bertil M. Carlson, died in 1972. She leaves a granddaughter, Cynthia C. Bettencourt and her husband Robert J. of South Portland, Maine; a great-grandson, John Carlson Bettencourt; a sister, Gladys I. Mallett of Westfield; a daughter-in-law, Eleanor C. King of Westport; and two nieces, Linda Fecteau of Merrimack, New Hampshire, and Joy Dargon of Westfield. She was predeceased by her son, Burt M. Carlson, and a sister, Florence A. Bergeson. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Albin and Hilda (Granlund) Aronson. She graduated from Commerce High School and lived in the Jefferson section of Holden for many years.
Mrs. Carlson was the Supervisor of the General File at Norton Company in Worcester for her entire working career. She enjoyed both oil and Tole painting, was a member of the American Needle workers Guild, and remained active with Norton Alumni.
A funeral service for Mrs. Carlson will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 30, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
