WORCESTER/HOLDEN – Linda Smith-Burden, 41, of 7 Mt. Pleasant St., Worcester, died Sunday, April 18, 2004, in Umass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, Worcester, after an illness.
She leaves her loving husband, Robert Chesko; three sons, Robert C. Burden of Arizona, Derek J. Burden of Sterling, Thomas P. Kelley of Worcester; her mother, Elizabeth A. (Roth) Smith of Holden; two sisters, Sheri L. Pierce of Sterling, Debra J. Smith-Rigney of Holden; a brother, Christopher R. Smith of Leominster; her maternal grandmother, Jennie Beal of East Templeton; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins. Her father, Ronald Smith, died last year. She was born in Gardner, raised in Holden, and graduated Wachusett Regional High School and Rob Roy Academy.
Linda worked many years as a cashier for area stores. She was a person who loved people, and had a sense of humor that she carried was intact throughout her life, including during her illness. She loved music, to dance and most of all her family. She will be greatly missed.
Linda’s funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2004, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2004, in the funeral home.
