HOLDEN/STERLING - Linda C. (Sakalauskas) Racca, 72, beloved wife of the late Ronald Racca, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family on Monday, October 24, 2022. Born and raised in Worcester, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Veronica (Lucas) Sakalauskas.
Linda graduated from South High School with the Class of 1967. Soon after, she met her future husband, Ronald Racca, and they were married on August 19, 1972. They moved to Sterling and started their family. She was employed by Shaw's Supermarkets for over twenty years, retiring as a Service Manager. She enjoyed horseback riding, kayaking, shopping and attending car shows with her husband, Ronald. She also loved to travel. Some of her favorite places were Aruba, Italy, Alaska, the Grand Canyon, and the Friesian horses in Vermont. Linda resided in Sterling for 46 years prior to moving to Holden in 2018, where she made many new friends.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by her two sons, Robert J. Racca and his wife, Jenny of North Grosvenordale, CT and Darryl A. Racca and his wife, Ericka of West Roxbury; her sister, Charlene Sakalauskas of Worcester; and her two grandchildren, Brady and Kaydyn. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald Racca in 2015.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 30 in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road, Sterling. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 31 at St. Richard of Chichester, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, online at diabetes.org or mailed to P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
