STERLING – Lillian C. (Perkins) Arbo, 88, the mother of Donna LeBlanc of Fitchburg, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at the Highlands of Fitchburg. Her husband of 33 years, Ernest R. Arbo, passed away in 1984. Lillian was born in Sterling, the daughter of Harold and Ida (Crossman) Perkins and was a lifelong Sterling resident.
She is survived and will be missed by her daughter and best friend, Donna LeBlanc of Fitchburg; her grandsons, Christopher LeBlanc of Sterling and Gregory LeBlanc and his wife, Jen of Fitchburg; her great-grandchildren, Danica Lynn LeBlanc and Jessica Duchnowski; a former son-in-law, Paul LeBlanc of Sterling; a former granddaughter-in-law, Cary LeBlanc; a long-time family friend, Sheryl Chaisson; and several nieces and nephews. Lillian was predeceased by two sisters, Greta Green and Vivian Shakespeare and two brothers, Norman and Everett Perkins.
Lillian devoted her life to caring for her family and involving herself in the Sterling community. She was a long time member of the First Church of Sterling where she was a devoted Sunday school teacher for several years. Lillian was an active member of the Rambelle’s of Sterling and cherished her role in their annual parades. She was an avid animal lover and could be seen every Saturday afternoon driving with her two beloved German Shepherds. Lillian is also survived by her cat and adoring companion, Dusty.
Lillian’s family extends their most sincere thanks to the staff at the Highlands of Fitchburg and the Health Alliance Hospital Hospice staff for the exceptional care of Lillian.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours on Saturday, April 19th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be private at Hillside Cemetery in Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564 or to a charity of one's choice.
