Lillian (Shapiro) Jacobson

April 14, 1920 — July 3, 2018

CLINTON – Lillian (Shapiro) Jacobson, age 98, formerly of Clinton died on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 in the Linda Manor Extended Care Facility in Northampton, MA.She was the wife of the late Manuel “Manny” Jacobson. She leaves two sons, Alan J. Jacobson of Watertown and David L. Jacobson and his wife, Debbie of Belchertown; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Celia Shapiro and Evelyn Bailin and her brothers, Martin, Bernard, Nathan and Hyman Shapiro.She was born and raised in Worcester and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Cherovsky) Shapiro and had lived for over 60 years in Clinton. She was a life member of Shaarai Zedeck Synagogue and its Sisterhood in Clinton and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Worcester Jewish Healthcare Center and the Leominster Chapter of Hadassah. With her husband Manny, she owned and operated Manny’s Market in Clinton for many years. She and Manny volunteered for many organizations in Clinton and in particular they were honored by Meals on Wheels for their service. GRAVESIDE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM ON FRIDAY JULY 6TH IN WORCESTER HEBREW CEMETERY ON CEMETERY ROAD IN AUBURN UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN.Memorial Contributions may be made to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, 34 Washington Street, Suite 200, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481; Telephone, 781-237-3800
