Lillian M. (Rutherford) Bonsra

Worcester - Lillian M. (Rutherford) Bonsra, 67, formerly of Rutland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 08, 2024, at UMass Medical Center of Worcester.
Born in Holden and raised in Rutland, Lillian was the daughter of the late Loman and Virginia (Wade) Rutherford. She spent the last 47 years in Worcester. Her beloved husband Bernard "Bob" O. Bonsra passed away in 2016.
Lillian is survived by her son Anthony Rutherford and his wife Lauren of Kentucky; her siblings; Donald J. Rutherford and his wife Sandra of Punta Gorda, Florida, Linda, Robert, and David Rutherford and his wife Patricia, all of Worcester, and Bonnie Rutherford of Rutland. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Ariana, Tyrell, and twins Jordan and Jaiden, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Loman Rutherford, Carolyn Foster, Shirley Bluncson, and Edgar Harris.
Throughout her life, Lillian epitomized selflessness and compassion, dedicating herself to the care of her husband, Bob, who was quadriplegic. Her unwavering commitment to Bob's well-being was a testament to her boundless love and strength of character.
In her spare time Lillian enjoyed reading and being in the comfort of her own home.
Special acknowledgment to the Medical staff at the Hermitage Heath Care facility of Worcester and to Lillian's nieces Tracey Rutherford and Stacey Luster who continued to answer her requests to what was needed to make her time away from home comfortable.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Contributions can be sent to 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
