WORCESTER - Lillian (Anber) Aramony of Worcester passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at the UMass Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and educated in Montreal, Canada, Lillian was the daughter of the late Loutfy and Mary (Ghiz) Anber and lived in Worcester for most of her life. Her husband of 54 years, Fred Aramony passed away in 2005.

Lillian is survived by three sons; Richard M. Aramony with whom she lived, Fred Aramony, Jr. of Springfield, and Donald T. and his wife, Sandra Husson Aramony of Shrewsbury; a daughter, Diane M. Aramony of New York City; a sister, Beatrice Haddad of Worcester; and a grandson, D. Thomas Aramony II, whom she cherished and loved beyond words; and many nieces and nephews. A brother, Michael Anber of Montreal, predeceased her.

She was a business partner of Sportsguide Mfg. and Don Fredrick Company and was financial manager of DFR Enterprises at the time of her passing. She was a long time member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and its Women’s Club, and a former member of the Worcester Community Chorale.

Lillian was especially gifted with patience and understanding and was a role model for all who knew her. She lived life to the fullest and was loved and admired by the many she touched. She will be missed by her loving family as well as her church community at St. George Orthodox Cathedral. Known for her array of beautiful hats, Lillian will be long remembered for her deep faith, love of life, and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather with Lillian’s family on Sunday, August 10, from 4-7 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014 in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Fr. Milad Selim. Interment will be at Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Lillian’s memory be made to St. George Orthodox Cathedral Endowment Fund, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, MA 01604. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Philip G. Haddad, Jr. of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
