PAXTON – Elsey L. (Hulten) Spillane, 88, of Grove Street, died peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2010 in The Meadows of Leicester, after a brief illness.
Her husband, Edward W. Spillane, Sr., died in 1975. She is survived by her two sons, Edward W. Spillane, Jr. of Charlton and Richard M. Spillane with whom she lived; a granddaughter, Jillian Spillane of Charlton; nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Stanley and Edward Hulten, and a sister, Dorothy Ackerman, predeceased her.
Elsey was born and raised in Holden, a daughter of G. Victor and Anna H. (Mossberg) Hulten. She was a 1939 graduate of Holden High School and has lived in Paxton since 1955. She was a home healthcare aide at the VNA for 10 years and previously she worked many years for the United Way. Elsey adored her granddaughter and vacationing on Cape Cod.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 22nd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
