SHREWSBURY/HOLDEN – Rita L. (Gauthier) Mullin, 87, of 218 Reservoir Street, Holden, formerly of Shrewsbury, died at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2008.
She leaves her husband of 59 years, Leo F. Mullin, Jr.; her son, Leo F. "Jeff" Mullin III of Shrewsbury; four daughters, Cathy S. Kielinen and her husband Robert P. of Mashpee, Patricia A. Cipro and her husband John F. of Santee, CA, Deborah L. Flynn and her husband Donald R. of Millbury and Susan R. Payson and her husband James V. of Worcester; two brothers, Roland Gauthier of Milwaukee and Henry Gauthier of Worcester; three sisters, Rose Barry and Doris Clark of Worcester and Robia Belmore of Clinton, CT; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. Three sisters, Evelyn Durant, Irene Beaudet and Lorraine Purdy, predeceased her.
Mrs. Mullin was born in Worcester, daughter of Cyrille and Florence M. (Arsenault) Gauthier, and lived in Shrewsbury for 40 years before moving to Holden in 2003. She was a graduate of Commerce High School and worked in sales at R.G. Shakour in Westboro for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church and a past member of the Sweet Adelines – Worcester Chapter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 28th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mrs. Mullin will be held on Saturday, March 29th, from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. Flowers may be sent, or donations in her memory may be made to the Life Care Center of Auburn, 14 Masonic Circle, Auburn, MA 01501.
