HOLDEN – Lewis Ragon Willmuth, Jr., 43, died unexpectedly on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at home.

He is survived by his beloved children, L. Ragon Willmuth III and Gretchen W. Willmuth, and their mother, Caroline Foster Deans of Holden, his parents, L. Ragon Willmuth and Mary E. Willmuth of Burlington, Vermont; his brothers, James R. Willmuth of West Roxbury, and Christopher E. Willmuth of Solon, Ohio and their families; and his uncle, Norris Guinn and his family of Little Rock, Arkansas. He was predeceased by his mother, Dee Anna Guinn Carithers and her husband Val Carithers of Little Rock, Arkansas.

Lewis was born in Landstuhl, Germany where his father was stationed while serving in the Air Force. He lived in Baltimore, MD and Little Rock, AR before joining his father and family in Burlington, Vermont, where he attended Burlington High School and was a graduate in the class of 1984. He continued his studies at the University of Vermont and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English in 1989. He subsequently worked in financial services, with lengthy tenures at Fidelity Investments and KeyBank.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 on Tuesday, September 8th in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 11th in Christ Presbyterian, on the University of Vermont (Redstone) Campus, Burlington, Vermont. A reception will follow in the family home in Burlington, Vermont. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Ad Care Hospital of Worcester, 107 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605-2499.
