WORCESTER – LeRoy A. Brown, Jr., 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at the Radius Healthcare Center in Worcester.
He leaves five children, Jeanne, Mary, Michael, Steven and Paul; two brothers, Phillip and Gregory Brown; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and a close friend, Tosca Zalinska. LeRoy was born in Greenfield, the son of LeRoy A. and Antoinette (Ballard) Brown, Sr. and had lived in Greenfield before moving to Worcester over 30 years ago. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Brown worked at Norton Company in the sheet metal plant for 20 years, but he was better known for his love of animals and his volunteer work with animal shelters.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 6, at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 GlenAllen Street, Winchendon. Please omit flowers. Donations may be made in his memory to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
