Leonard H. Gerhardt

WORCESTER – Leonard H. Gerhardt, age 87, of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late David and Rae (Brenner) Gerhardt.He was the beloved husband of 66 years to Eleanor Gerhardt. He was the devoted father of Barry Gerhardt and his wife, Joni, Jeffrey Gerhardt and Pam Orlando, Stuart Gerhardt and his wife, Jane, Elizabeth Shron and her husband, Bradley; proud Grampa of, Melissa Berkowitz and her husband, Marc, Lindsay Jabbawy and her husband, Mike, Jennifer Dupuis and her husband Gary, Erik, Daniel and Benjamin Gerhardt, David Gerhardt and his wife, Lya, Rachel Gerhardt, and Nathan, Michael and Lauren Shron; Great Grampa of Jake, Ethan and Sloane Berkowitz, Olivia and Emilee Dupuis, Max and Zack Jabbawy, and Annie Gerhardt. Len was the brother of Edmund Gerhardt and his husband, Tony Petronella.After serving in the Army in Korea, Len became a self employed electrical contractor for many years until his retirement.He loved to golf, dance, and cook, but spending time with his family, especially his wife Ellie, was his greatest joy.FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 2:00 PM ON THURSDAY, JULY 5TH AT TEMPLE EMANUEL SINAI, 661 SALISBURY STREET, WORCESTER UNDER THE DIRECTION OF RICHARD PERLMAN OF MILES FUNERAL HOME OF HOLDEN. Burial will follow at B’Nai Brith Cemetery. Memorial Observance will be held on Thursday, July 5 at the residence of Stuart and Jane Gerhardt.Memorial contributions may be made in Len’s name to Temple Emanuel Sinai, 661 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
