HOLDEN – Leonard “Lenny” C. Anderson, 82, of Jefferson, passed away peacefully at home under the loving care of his family on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. Born in Worcester, Lenny was the son of Leonard C. and Frances (Devlin) Anderson and lived most of his life in Holden. Lenny graduated from Holden High School in 1951 and worked for the Holden Light Department for 32 years, retiring as superintendent in 1987. After his retirement, Lenny worked for several local electrical contractors. He was a Holden firefighter for several years and served on the Holden Conservation Committee and was instrumental in the supervision of the underground wire project on Main Street. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. He enjoyed spending time outdoors which included playing golf, hunting and fishing. Lenny absolutely adored his grandchildren who will miss him dearly. He will be remembered for his joyful sense of humor and his kind and gentle nature. His beloved wife of 49 years, Shirley M. (Johnston) Anderson died in 2012. He leaves his son, David S. Anderson with whom he lived; his daughter, Lori A. Dillon and her husband, Rich of Londonderry, NH; a brother, William Anderson of Tiverton, RI; two sisters, Frances McMahon of Worcester and Carol Kepler of Ft. Myers, FL; four grandchildren, Jodi, Jillian, Cassidy, and Callie; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Crippin. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Lenny’s family from 3 to 5 pm on Sunday, March 20, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Monday, March 21, at St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Holden.
