HOLDEN – Leona R. (Campeau) Mathieu, 93, formerly of Worcester, died Friday, March 26, in Holden Nursing Home.
She leaves a son, Donald R. Mathieu of Princeton; four grandchildren, Robin L. Mathieu of Newport Beach, California, Donald R. Mathieu, Jr. of Princeton, Jody L. Cates of Hubbardston and Michelle L. Drohan of Princeton; nine great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, Edward W. Mathieu, a brother, and five sisters predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Adelard and Josephine (Leblanc) Campeau, and lived most of her life in Worcester.
Mrs. Mathieu worked at Astra Pharmaceutical Company for 15 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Worcester and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
The funeral for Mrs. Mathieu will be held Monday, March 29, 2004, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Prince of Peace Church, 1 Worcester Road, Princeton. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 29, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donaitons may be made to the Activities Fund of Holden Nursing Home, 32 Mayo Drive, Holden, MA 01520; or the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.
