Leon Dickinson

October 2, 1964 — February 15, 2018

HOLDEN   -  Leon L. Dickinson, IV, 53, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Holden, MA, on Feb. 15, 2018. Leon was born in McCall, Idaho, the son of Leon L. Dickinson, III and the late, Beatrice B. Dorman. He was educated in Northampton schools and attended UMass, Amherst where he was recruited as a freshman by a computer company but remained in school. He later earned a degree in Laser Electro Optics from Springfield Technical Community College. After graduation he was immediately hired by AB Lasers where he excelled at every position he held, quickly rising to become their worldwide Service Manager where he was respected, revered and beloved; also working alongside his brother, Bruce. Upon leaving AB Lasers, Leon opened his own successful laser marking business, PermanentMark in Clinton, MA. Leon’s passion for his family was evident by his participation in numerous organizations with his children. Leon coached several lacrosse teams over the years in the Wachusett community. He was most recently coaching the Seven Hills Lacrosse team for his son Mathew. Leon’s greatest joy in life was being a father to his children. Leon was an avid and lifelong Patriot’s football fan along with his brother, Bruce.  He enjoyed traveling and was well-known for his love of friends and family. He was an avid gamer with his children, always finding creative ways to play with them throughout the years. He was famous for his frequent gatherings, barbeques, pig roasts and most recently monthly brunches. Leon was loved by his family and friends for his witty sense of humor, beautiful smile, intelligence, confidence, and talent coming up with his many innovations. He could fix anything that was broken and would always find unconventional ways to make things work. Leon is survived and forever loved by his sons, Cody and Mathew; his daughter, Alexandra; his former wife, Jennifer Dickinson; his former partner, Erica Dwyer and her children, Devin, Amber, Kayla, and Jacob Aynesworth; his father, Leon L. Dickinson, III and his companion, Sandra Bell; his sister, Trina Raucher and her husband, Donald and their children, nieces Taylor and Lyndsey; his sister, Tanya Dickinson Abbatessa and her children, nephews Colin and Conor; his sister, Angela Dickinson; his brother, Bruce Dickinson and his wife, Jacqueline Ammendolia Dickinson his children, nephews Dakota, Ashton and Blake; niece and nephews, Ashlee and Ryan Perrone, Daniel and Linwood Gallant; his longtime employee and friend, Kim Rice Filieo and her family; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends with whom he has shared many good times.     Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial calling hours from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, February 23, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Interment will be private and held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Dickinson Children Fund ℅ Clinton Savings Bank, 306 West Boylston Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
