WORCESTER - Leo J. DiGregorio, 92, a resident at Tatnuck Park, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, under the loving care of his family and the staff at UMass Memorial Hospital, Belmont Street Campus. Born and raised in Worcester, Leo was the son of Italian immigrants, Giuseppe and Rose (Sciascia) DiGregorio and lived in Vero Beach, Florida for 10 years before returning to Worcester in 2013.



His beloved wife of 62 years, Eileen (Houlihan) DiGregorio passed away on February 5th of this year. He leaves two sons, Leo J. DiGregorio and his wife, Ann of Holden and Raymond F. DiGregorio of Worcester; a daughter, Helen LaJeunesse of Worcester; four grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Joseph DiGregorio, and Eileen LaJeunesse; and many nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by five brothers, Angelo, Frank, Peter, Larry and Joseph, and three sisters, Grace Migliozzi, Anne Mallozzi and Rose Kowalcek.



Leo owned and operated Leo's Vac Center in Worcester from 1967 to 1995. The business remains in the family today operated by his sons and grandsons. He was a proud World War II Army Veteran and served in the European African Theater of operation with the 374th Field Artillery Battalion.



Leo was a great conversationalist and rarely met someone that he didn't soon call a friend. He made everyone feel at home and looked forward to greeting and spending time with customer's at his shop. Leo loved traveling with his wife in their retirement years and particularly enjoyed their trips to Italy and Ireland. He was a devoted family man and will be remembered for his caring and trustworthy nature.



Leo's family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Tatnuck Park Assisted Living in Worcester for their care and compassion.



Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Leo's family from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 20, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a funeral service honoring his life at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery in Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 10 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
