Biography
GARDNER - Leo Bruce Findlay, 65, passed away in his sleep on Friday, March 7, 2014 at his home in Gardner. He was born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia on January 25, 1949, the son of Jean Findlay. Bruce moved to Sterling in 1961.

Bruce graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1968. He went on to become a chef, graduating from the Culinary Institute of America. Bruce was a chef at Twin Oaks and then owned Picc’s Lounge in Sterling for several years. He then served as a personal care attendant for the remainder of his career. Bruce enjoyed karate in his youth and was an automobile enthusiast. He had a zest for life that was uncontainable.

Bruce is survived by his partner, Donnalee Girouard; his two children, Emmett Findlay and his wife, Kristina and Lisa Findlay and her husband, Liam; and two grandchildren, Flora and Annesta; as well as other family and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at the Miles-Sterling Funeral and Tribute Center, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12),, Sterling. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 18, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge St., Sterling.
