HOLDEN – Lea M. (Tetreault) Galeckas, 93, of Colony Homes of Holden, died peacefully on Monday, September 24, 2012, under the loving care of her family and the staff at The Meadows in Leicester. Born in Bakersfield, Vermont, Lea was the daughter of Wilfred and Laura (Brouillette) Tetreault and lived many years in Worcester before moving to Holden in 1993.
Lea was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Holden and enjoyed traveling cross country and knitting.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, John S. Galeckas; a son, Stephen A. Galeckas and his wife Donna of Oxford; a daughter, Elaine J. Songy and her husband Alfred of Spencer; a brother, Eugene Tetreault and his wife Pearl of Holden; two sisters, Cecile Hewitt and her husband Ronald of Sturbridge and Alice L’Heureux of Lancaster, California; four grandchildren, Sherill, Andrew, John, and Jeremy; four great grandchildren, Anthony, Katelyn, Aiden, and Josephine; nephews and nieces. Four sisters, Florina Thomas, Theresa Mayfield, Lucille Reynolds, and Irene Lorenzet predeceased her.
