HOLDEN – Raymond L. DiPerrio, Sr., 82, of Salisbury Street, passed away under the loving care of his family and staff at Shrewsbury Crossing on Friday, June 10, 2011. His wife of 57 years, Marguerite A. (Desrosier) DiPerrio, died in 2007.
Ray is survived by his children, Patricia Probert and her husband Charles of Bristol, CT, Raymond L. DiPerrio II and his wife Pamela from Haverhill, NH and Denise A. Barnes and her husband David from Holden; six grandchildren, Kristen and Andrew Barnes, Neil and Peter DiPerrio, Katie Hultman and Michael Probert; two brothers, Robert DiPerrio of Holden and William DePerrio of Florida; and several nephews and nieces. Two brothers, Anthony DiPerrio and George DiPerrio predeceased him.
He was born in Holden, son of Biagio and Antonietta (D'Amato) DiPerrio, and lived in Holden most of his life before moving to Shrewsbury last year. He graduated from Holden High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in M Company, 34th Infantry Regiment in Japan. For over 30 years, he was a heavy equipment operator until his retirement.
A private funeral service will be held at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Holden. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Mary's Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 2200, Jefferson, MA 01522.
