HOLDEN – Everett L. Dickman, 77, of Princeton Street, Jefferson, died peacefully at home with his family by his side on Sunday, March 1, 2009.
He leaves his wife of 56 years, Shirley E. (Boquist) Dickman; two sons, David E. Dickman of Jefferson and Dennis M. Dickman and his wife Judy of Gardner; a daughter, Cynthia L. Smith and her husband Craig of Holden; 4 grandchildren, Jessica Scanlon and her husband Matthew, Lindsay Smith, Danielle and Sarah Dickman; nephews and nieces. A son, Philip G. Dickman, died in 2002. Three brothers, Elden, Earl and Emmitt Dickman, predeceased him. He was born and raised in Holden, son of Edward J. and Elsie L. (Vanasse) Dickman, and was a lifetime resident of Holden.
Everett was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in Korea where he received a Combat Infantry Badge, Bronze Star with V Device, three additional Bronze Stars, Purple Heart and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. He owned and operated Western Sealant of MA, Inc. for many years. He later worked at Capa Corp in Holden now located in Rutland. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Jefferson and enjoyed fishing.
Funeral services will be private in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
