SALEM, NH – HOLDEN, MA – Cynthia L. Cassano, 53, of Salem, New Hampshire, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, New Hampshire after an illness. She was born and raised in Holden and lived in Rutland for many years before moving to Salem in 1999.
She leaves her beloved son, Lee Dickman of Salem; her mother, Deanna M. (Carlson) Raymond of Jefferson; her father, Leroy C. Orton of Spencer; a sister, Laurie Lane and her husband Roy of Sterling; three brothers, Jimmy Orton of Jefferson, Ricky Orton of Vermont and Scott Raymond of Jefferson; her long time companion, Roy Sleeper of Nashua, New Hampshire; and a large extended family. Her former companion, Emmett “Jack” L. Dickman, died in 2007.
Cynthia was a bus driver for First Student in Salem since 2001. She was a collector of many things including dolls, figurines and “all things Christmas”. She enjoyed home design, gardening, traveling and going to the beach.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, February 4th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 5th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, 114 Princeton Street, Jefferson.
