S Doris L. Anderson

WORCESTER – Doris L. (Pearson) Anderson, 89, of 20 Westover Road, died Thursday, September 7, 2006, in Oakdale Nursing Home, West Boylston.

Her husband of 53 years, Thure A. Anderson, died in 1996. She leaves three daughters, Linda C. Gusa of Worcester, Joyce E. Kujala and her companion Dale Theriault and Cynthia J. Cloutier and her husband Jeffrey, all of West Boylston; two grandsons, Ronald A. Gusa of Worcester and Eric A. Kujala of Brighton; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Holton of Holden and Mary Pearson of North Carolina; nieces, nephews and cousins. Two brothers, Carl and Gunnar Pearson, predeceased her. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Carl F. and Clara W. (Nielson) Pearson, and lived here her entire life.

Mrs. Anderson was a 1934 graduate of Commerce High School. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, and a former member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Holden and its Senior Koinonia. She was an accomplished knitter and donated many items for children charities and churches. She was a former Girl Scout Leader with the Montachusett Council; enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and was an avid Red Sox fan.

The funeral service for Mrs. Anderson will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 11, in the Christ Lutheran Church, 112 Crescent Street, West Boylston. Burial will follow in All Faith’s Cemetery, 7 Island Road, Worcester. Calling hours are from 5 to 7 on Sunday, September 10, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund, Christ Lutheran Church, 112 Crescent Street, West Boylston, MA 01583.
