PRINCETON – Kurtis F. Wilkey, 19, of 54 Mountain Road, died after a bravely fought battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy on Thursday, October 27, 2005, in UMass Memorial Hospital.

He leaves his parents, Richard Wilkey and Marlene Gibbons-Wilkey, and a brother, Daniel G. Wilkey all of Princeton. He also leaves three brothers, William Wilkey and his wife Kathleen of Virginia, Wayne Wilkey of Danvers and Wesley C. Wilkey and his wife Patricia of Harvard; a sister, Heidi Beberman and her husband Gary of Shrewsbury; aunts and uncles, Frederick X. Gibbons and his wife Meg Gerrard of Ames, Iowa, Joan Gelinas of Canandaigua, New York, Katherine Kimball and her husband Stanley of Westford; several cousins, including Bethany Gibbons of Ames, Iowa. He was born in Hanover, New Hampshire and lived in Mattapoisett before moving to Princeton in 2004.

Kurt was a sophomore at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, class of 2008, where he was majoring in Chemistry. He graduated from Old Rochester Regional High School in Mattapoisett. He was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Princeton and enjoyed computers, music, professional and collegiate sports.

The funeral for Kurt will be held on Monday, October 31, from the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden, with a Mass at 9 a.m. in Prince of Peace Church, 1 Worcester Road, Princeton. Burial will be in Crocker Park Cemetery, West Barnstable. Calling hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Kurtis F. Wilkey to the College of the Holy Cross, One College Street, Worcester, MA 01610.
