Kristi Simaku

July 18, 1990 — September 20, 2020

WORCESTER - Kristi Simaku, 30, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at home. Born in Progradec, Albania, Kristi was a son of Bruno and Teuta (Vako) Simaku and lived with his family in Worcester.

Kristi had a passion for music and loved the entertainment industry performing as an entertainer and D.J for numerous international performers. His love for his Albania Heritage was always prominent in his life. As a member of St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, Kristi served as an Altar Boy in his earlier years, a dancer with St. Mary’s Dance ensemble, and he was instrumental in organizing and performing as the D.J. at the Albanian Festivals held biannually on the church grounds.

Kristi graduated from Doherty High School and received an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Mechanics from Quinsigamond Community College.

Besides his parents, Kristi leave a son, Landon A. Ready and his mother, Mary (Cardinal) Ready and her husband, Brenden of N. Grafton; a brother, Gjergji Simaku and his wife, Klea of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Marika (Trendafili) Vako; an uncle, Llazar Simaku, and his wife Eli; an aunt, Marina Klodiana Mitaras and her husband, John; 2 cousins, Egi and Linda Simaku and many aunts and cousins in Albania. His paternal grandparents, Pandi and Theodhora Simaku predeceased him.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 9:30 – 11:00am on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester. The funeral service will commence at 11:00am with the Rev. Fr. Mark Doku officiating. Burial will follow at approximately 12:15PM in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.

Appropriate face coverings must be worn at all times when in the Church and social distancing must be honored. As a requirement, there will be no conversations in the church with family and friends during visitation.

The burial service at Hope Cemetery will begin approximately at 12:15 PM and will be live streamed here: https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/38987365 Furthermore, the burial service may be viewed at your leisure for 90 days by following the aforementioned process.

In lieu of flowers, and, if you wish to make a donation in Kristi’s memory, contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church Endowment Fund, 535 Salisbury Street, Worcester 01609.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Philip G. Haddad, Jr of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, and Holden.
