WORCESTER – Robert K. Perry, Sr., 87, of 15 Bel Air Street, died peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2008 in Holden Nursing Home.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Jean M. (Tod) Perry; two sons, Robert K. Perry, Jr. and his wife Joanne of Rutland and David T. Perry of Natick; three daughters, Jean M. Sinclair and her husband Gary of Harwich, Joan C. Perry of Petersham and Kathleen A. Berrocal and her husband William of San Jose, Costa Rica; five grandchildren, Jason and Lauren Perry, Corey Monfreda, and Amanda and Shawn Sinclair. A brother, Paul Perry, and a sister, Justine Emond, predeceased him. He was born in Boston, son of Dorothy S. Perry, and lived most of his life in Worcester.
Mr. Perry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in Battery C, 163rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Bronze Service Arrowhead. He was an Ultra Sonic Inspector for Wyman-Gordon Co. in Worcester for 32 years, retiring in 1983.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 13th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral for Mr. Perry will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14th, in the funeral home with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte. 56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holden Nursing Home Patient Activities Fund, 32 Mayo Drive, Holden, MA 01520.
