WORCESTER – Robert K. Massey, Jr. died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the age of 67. Born and raised in Worcester, he was the son of the late Robert K. and Barbara A. (Steinert) Massey.
Dr. Massey graduated from Amherst College and earned an M.A. from the University of Iowa and a Ph.D. from Duke University, both in American Studies. He had a long career in post-secondary education. He leaves his sister, Tucker M. Clark of West Falmouth; his nephew, Andrew R. Clark of West Barnstable; his niece, Torrey H. Clark-Shirnina of Moscow, Russia; five grand-nieces and grand-nephews; and his step-mother, Nancy H. Massey of Peterborough, NH.
Funeral services are private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League at the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, 370 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
