HOLDEN – Kenneth W. Pfost, 75, of Holden, died at home on Tuesday, March 20, 2007.
His wife of 41 years, Lois E. (Kremer) Pfost, died in 2001. He leaves his son, Robert G. Pfost of Marlboro; his daughter, Janet P. Rutzel of Merion, Pennsylvania; two sisters, Marion Boessmann of Rochester, New York and Irma Gregory of South Carolina; two grandchildren, Sophia and Lena Rutzel; several nephews and nieces. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, the son of Albert W. and Elsie M. (Rath) Pfost, and lived 42 years in Holden.
Mr. Pfost graduated from a high school in Long Island and Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester. He worked twenty years for National Envelope Company in Worcester retiring as the office manager in 1995. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
The funeral for Mr. Pfost will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. Burial will be private in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
