Kenneth Progin, 93, of Holden passed away on August 4, 2022. During his lifetime, he presided in Auburn, Worcester, and Holden.
Ken was a devout catholic and former member of St. Mary’s Church in Jefferson. He graduated high school, spent some time in the military and then went to work for the Telegram and Gazette for over 45 years. He loved working for the iconic newspaper and spoke fondly of being in the newsroom. The last few years of his life, Ken had Alzheimer’s and was being cared for by the Odd Fellows Home in Worcester. A huge thank you to the staff at Odd Fellows for caring for him so well.
Ken was preceded in passing by a majority of his family, including his parents, Francis A. Progin and Anna M. Graves; and his five siblings, Alton, Roland, Francis, Beatrice, Edith, and Claire. He is survived by four nieces, Janet, Cathy, Gail and Deborah; and three nephews, William, Robert, and James.
A Mass of Christian Burial is to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jefferson on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10 a.m. with burial immediately following at St. John’s Cemetery.
