S Catherine 'Kay' (Simpson) Adams

STERLING – Catherine “Kay” L. (Simpson) Adams, 73, of 14 Circle Avenue, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

Kay leaves her devoted husband of 35 years, Robert F. Adams; her son, Gary E. Bahosh and wife Joni of Newport, ME; three daughters: Teresa A. Kowalczyk wife of John, and Doreen A. Dziokonski wife of Dennis, both of Clinton, Cynthia A. Kowalczyk wife of Eugene of Brookfield, brother Harry Simpson of Beckley, WV, her sister and best friend, Alice Degnan of Auburn. She is predeceased by her four siblings: Billy, Tommy, Mary and Ernie. She also leaves 22 cherished grandchildren, 6 beloved great-grandchildren, 6 wonderful step-children, nephews, nieces and many life-long friends. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family and friends.

Kay was born in Clinton, daughter of Harry and Margaret (Nichols) Simpson. She lived in Clinton before moving to Sterling over 30 years ago. She was a graduate of Girls Trade. She retired from the Sterling School System where she had worked for over 15 years. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church. She was an active square dancer for over 30 years, a member of the Sutton Country Squares, and a representative of the Worcester Area Square Dance Association (WACA) for six years. She was a lifelong Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing card games, doing crossword puzzles and reading.

In respecting Kay’s wishes there will be no calling hours. The funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20th, at St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Clinton Road (Rte. 12), Sterling. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s name may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608 (or www.vnacarenetwork.org ). Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Rd., Sterling is directing arrangements.
