SPENCER – Katrina “Katy” I. (Crutcher) Riedle, 53, died Sunday, June 16, 2013 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Leicester.
She leaves her husband of 35 years, Frank D. Riedle; two daughters, Kathryn A. Mateucci and her husband Clodoaldo of East Brookfield and Theresa M. Oliveri and her husband Paul of Littleton; her mother Margaret G. (Wiles) Wilkins of Rutland; two brothers, Thomas Crutcher and Joseph Crutcher both of Rutland; four sisters, Maria Hopkins of Spencer, Rachel Dolan of Rutland, Eileen Toomey of Paxton and Sara Rayburn of Abilene, TX; two grandchildren, Lilyan and Lucas; and many nephews, nieces, aunt and cousins.
Katrina was born in South Bend, IN, the daughter of the late Dr. John R. Crutcher and was raised in Paxton and had lived in Spencer for over 30 years. She graduated from Wachusett Regional High School and attended Worcester State College. She later graduated from Hamburger University in Oak Brook, IL. A hard working wife and mother, Katy was a general manager at McDonald’s restaurant in Auburn for many years. In 2001 she received the prestigious Ray Kroc Award, which is bestowed on 127 managers across the United States for achieving superior results in selected areas of performance. She was a member of Mary Queen of the Rosary Church in Spencer.
Katy enjoyed reading on the beach, antiquing, bingo and shopping for a good deal, but most of all she will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who always looked out for others before herself. She will be sadly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at 12 p.m. on Friday, June 21, at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave, Paxton.
