HOLDEN – Kathleen Mary (Foley) Scavone, 62, passed away at home with her companion, Robert by her side on Friday, July 17, 2015 after an illness. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Edmund F. Foley and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden.
She leaves her best friend and companion of many years, Robert L. McGourty; a son, Dominic Scavone of Palm Harbor, FL; her mother, Ellen A. (Murphy) Foley of Worcester; three brothers, Robert Foley of West Boylston, Paul Foley of Stoneham and Michael Foley of Pepperell; a granddaughter, Lily; and her mother, Christy Gott, both of Florida; and nephews, nieces. She also leaves Robert’s two daughters, Laura and Sheryl McGourty whom she treated like her own.
Kathleen graduated from Holy Name High School, Anna Maria College and earned a master’s degree at Curry College. She worked in the customer service department at NSTAR in Southborough and Westwood for many years. Previously, she worked at Memorial Hospital in Worcester.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service for Kathleen at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 24, at Rural Cemetery, 180 Grove Street, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606 where she worked as a volunteer.
