WEST BOYLSTON – Kathleen “Kay” M. (Mooney) Carlo, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 22, 2018. Born and raised in New York City, she was a daughter of the late James A. and Mary Elizabeth (Fitzpatrick) Mooney. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Manhattan, and moved to Worcester in 1949 after marrying the love of her life, Victor E. Carlo on May 14, 1949.
Kathleen and Victor raised their family in Worcester prior to moving to Holden. They enjoyed the last 9 years at Hillside Village in West Boylston.
After raising her family, she enjoyed a 21 year career as a Graphics Administrator for AstraZeneca. Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a devoted parishioner of St. George Church for more than 50 years. She was a member of the Greendale YMCA, the Silver Sneakers and the Woman’s Club at Hillside Village. She enjoyed quilting, dominos, cards, movies, reading, sewing, golf, making family albums and going to the casino. She loved her Irish heritage and her trip to Ireland was a memorable part of her life.
Her greatest enjoyment came from her family and the time spent at the many family gatherings, winters with her husband in Florida and summers by the ocean.
Kathleen will be lovingly missed by her beloved husband of 68 years, Victor E. Carlo; her 4 sons, Kenneth and his wife, Robin of Gloucester, Robert and his wife Tracy of Littleton, CO, James of Sterling and Thomas of Worcester; her daughter, Kathleen Beriau and her husband Brian of Holden; 14 grandchildren including Joe, Jay, Julie, Tony, Danny, Lee, Regina, Kristin Ashley, Molly, Brenna, Michael, Katie, Kristin Marie, and Kelly; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.
