SAUGUS - Kathleen “Katie” (Faherty) Hill, 70, of Saugus, MA, wife of the late Leonard G. Hill, passed away on August 13, 2022. She is survived by her three siblings, J. Michael Faherty (Ramona) of Gloucester, MA, Arthur W. Faherty (Paris Kallas) of Seattle, WA, and Veronica Buckley of Holden, MA, her dear friends, and many nieces and nephews.
Katie was a renaissance woman who enjoyed good food and good company. She was an avid reader, a true Cosmo Queen, the perfect saleswoman, Patriot seasons ticket holder, football referee, and thrift shop connoisseur. She knew enough about everything to fit in just about everywhere, and she was always up for an adventure.
However, her true profession was that of a consummate professional aunt (a.k.a “Crazy Auntie Katie”). She took her duties as an aunt seriously, and, in our opinion, she truly perfected the art. She traveled the country and the globe to attend soccer games, rugby games, dance recitals, school plays, birthdays, horseback riding competitions, weddings, and the like. She always attended well-dressed and often sporting a matching hat from her collection. She went above and beyond to positively impact the lives of her nieces and nephews in a beautiful way.
Katie is survived by and truly missed by all those who knew her as Auntie Katie: nieces and nephews Katherine Faherty of Gloucester, MA, Brendan Faherty (Emily) of Gloucester, MA, Meghan Faherty of Bellevue, ID, Colin Faherty (Genevieve) of E. Burke, VT, Dylan Faherty (Kiley) of Seattle, WA, Lyejm Kallas-Lewis (Joanne) of New Jersey, Killian Buckley of Boston, MA; great nieces and nephews Zane, Celia, Kaia, Nora, Tadhg, Saoirse, Olympia, Meletios; and those who were not related by blood, but no less her family: Johnny, Liza, Dana, James, Vanessa, Adam, Amna, Layla, and many more.
No services will be held at this time. In keeping with her wishes, a fabulous party will be held in her memory. In honor of Katie, please take a moment to call a loved one just to say hello.
