HOLDEN – Kathleen Helen Ambrose, 57, of 52 Mt. View Drive, died unexpectedly after being stricken ill at UMass Memorial Medical Center on Wednesday, August 9, 2006. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly A. Stone Jones and Patrick R. Jones of Worcester; two grandchildren, Tiley and Tucker Jones of Worcester; a sister, Beverly Meder of Springfield, Virginia; and a niece, Cynthia Crehan and her husband Michael Crehan of Chelsea. Kathy was born in Gardner on August 30, 1948, the daughter of Adolph Ambrose who passed away in 1973 and Anna Bennett Ambrose who passed away in May of this year. She was raised in Athol where she attended public schools and was a 1966 graduate from Athol High School.

Kathy obtained her registered nursing degree from Memorial Hospital in 1969. She was a registered nurse and operated from her home Sports Medicine, Inc. for 10 years. Previously she worked for Health Pro, AdCare Hospital and was a private duty nurse for many years. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandsons, whose pictures and drawings adorned her house. Nothing brought her more joy than to watch her grandsons frolic in her pool or play with the stuffed animals she kept at her house just for them. Kathy loved to read and cook, blessing many with copies of her self-made cookbook “Kathy’s Favorite Recipes”, which contained as she put it, “a conglomeration of my life’s experiences with friends”. She was also very proud of her Lithuanian heritage which came out in many of her recipes.
