Kathleen R. (Foudy) Bengtson

March 6, 1922 — November 29, 2021

HOLDEN – Kathleen R. (Foudy) Bengtson, 99, passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Tatnuck Park at Worcester after an illness. She was born in Lawrence, the daughter of John J. and Catherine V. (Oldroyd) Foudy.

Kathleen graduated from Lowell High School and was a representative for the Worcester Housing Authority for over twenty years retiring in 1987. She was a member of St. George’s Church, the Chaminade Choral Group and the Holden Women’s Club. She was an avid reader and loved to spend time with her family.

Her loving husband of 64 years, Harold W. Bengtson, Jr., passed away in 2014. She leaves her son, Laurence W. Bengtson of Holden; her daughter, Cathleen C. Kennen and her husband, Bruce of Spencer; eight grandchildren, Jason, Christin, Brian, Emily, Robert, Daniel, Kayla and Alec; several great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, John E. Bengtson and her sister, Elise Olson.

Kathleen’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the care and kindness provided by Dr. Timothy Hogan and the staff at Tatnuck Park. It was greatly appreciated.

A private memorial service for Kathleen will be held at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a committal service at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Ste 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
