WORCESTER, MA – Katherine S. (Splaine) Nielsen, 61 of Pleasant Valley Dr. died Monday, July 26, 2004 after an illness. Her husband Roger A. Nielsen died in 1995.
She leaves a son, David Paul of Virginia Beach, VA; three daughters, Margaret C. Seligman and Mary E. Lindfors both of Holden, Betsey Kostrzeba of Shrewsbury; two brothers, Andrew B. Splaine of Princeton and John E. Evans of Worcester; a sister, Sr. Paula Marie FSP of Jamaica Plain; 5 granddaughters, Kristen, Amy, Anna, Emily and Rachel; a grandson, Eric; nieces, nephews and cousins. A son, Michael C. Nielsen, a daughter, Rogetta K. Boden and a sister, Paula Splaine predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of Paul W. and Mary K. (Perry) Splaine. She had worked for AdCare Hospital in Worcester. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and crafts.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2004 in St. Francis Episcopal Church, 70 Highland Street, Holden. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
