STERLING – Karin M. (Kelly) Cordial, 61, died peacefully on Saturday, January 14, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital, with her loving family by her side after a short illness.
Karin was born in Norfolk, Virginia, on June 8, 1944, daughter of Frank and Mary (Mahoney) Kelly. She graduated St. Peter’s High School in Worcester and was married in April of 1968. She is the beloved wife for almost 40 years of Francis J. Cordial; beloved mother of daughter Kirsten Prindle and her husband Craig of Oak Hill, Virginia, and son Keith Cordial and his wife Melissa of Leominster; adored “gammie” of granddaughter Shannen Prindle; beloved sister of Susan Holmquist and her husband Arthur of Worcester, and Mary Foley and her husband Timothy of Westborough; aunt of Christopher, Evan and Andrew Foley; and beloved sister-in-law of Fran’s brother, George Cordial, and his wife Susan of Florida. Her sister, “Honey” Kelly of Wellfleet, predeceased her.
Karin spent winters vacationing in Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, Florida. She enjoyed visiting her sister in Wellfleet, loved her family and cherished spending time with her children and granddaughter. She was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church.
The funeral for Karin will be held on Monday, January 16, from the Miles-Sterling Funeral Home, 100 Worcester Road (Rte. 12), Sterling, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Richard of Chichester Church, 4 Bridge Street, Sterling. Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sterling Youth Recreation, c/o Town Hall, 1 Park Street, Sterling, MA 01564.
