HOLDEN – Gordon K. Anderson, 73, of 58 Glenwood Street, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 10, 2008, after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 50 years, Marion E. (Hallstrom) Anderson; three sons, James S. Anderson and his wife Thea of Holden, Jon S. Anderson and his wife Kelly of Madison, Ohio and Jeffery S. Anderson of Malden; a daughter, Eileen A. Connolly and her husband Michael of Northborough; a granddaughter, Kathryn G. Connolly of Northborough; and two step-granddaughters, Jessica Roy of Lee, New Hampshire and Samantha Lampron of Waltham. He was born in Worcester, son of George A.F. and Doris E. (Strand) Anderson, and lived in Holden since 1950.
Mr. Anderson was a graduate of Holden High School and the University of Massachusetts Stockbridge School of Agriculture. He was a Production Control Manager for Suprenant Manufacturing in Clinton where he worked for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir, the Greendale YMCA Retired Men's Club, Holden Senior Center and volunteered at the Lutheran Healthcare Center in Worcester for many years. He enjoyed traveling, cruising, bird watching and all New England sports including baseball, basketball, football and golf.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Mr. Anderson at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 17th, in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Holden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 346 Shrewsbury Street, Holden, MA 01520. Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden is directing arrangements.
