HOLDEN – Justina P. (Dayutis) Shackett, 92, of Bullard Street, died peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2011, under the loving care of her close friends and the staff at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Her husband, Raymond Shackett, passed away in 1997. Mrs. Shackett was born in Worcester the daughter of Simon P. and Isabelle (Kilimayiuto) Dayutis and lived over 40 years in Holden.
She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and later retired from Woodbury & Co. where she worked for 33 years. She was a member of St. George Church in Worcester.
Mrs. Shackett is survived by several nephews and nieces and several close friends: Shannon and Bob Collins, Pat Hennessey, and Lisa Post. She was a highly spirited woman and was an avid runner in her youth. She enjoyed fishing, camping, and vacationing with her husband.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation hour from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Church, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will be at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue (Rte.56), Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
