Biography
WORCESTER/HOLDEN - Julia M. Guilbeault, 89, of Holden St., Worcester, died peacefully at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Born in Holden and raised in Jefferson, Julia was the daughter of Michael Russack and Pauline (Russack) Bobick, lived 26 years in Worcester and several years in Holden before moving back to Worcester in 1981.
Julia graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and was a machine operator for Worcester Pressed Steel and Presmet Corp., both in Worcester for many years. After her retirement, she worked part-time for over 10 years at the West Boylston Street Stop & Shop, retiring in 2010. Julia could be found as recently as September, spending afternoons exercising at the Greendale YMCA either walking on a treadmill, biking or rowing. She loved to cook and preferred preparing her own home-made meals. She will be remembered for her strong-will and friendly disposition. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Julia’s love will be eternally embedded in the hearts of those whom she loved.
Her husband of 42 years, Edmond J. Guilbeault died in 1988. She is survived by her children, Mary A. Dowd and her husband Michael of Holden and Edmond J. Guilbeault, Jr. with whom she lived; three grandchildren, Nicole, Joshua and Alexander Dowd; several nieces and nephews including Sandra Powers, Joyce Lowney, Frances Anderson, Barbara Larson, Kathleen Luczyk and William Beaushene. She was predeceased by her daughter, Linda M. Guilbeault who died in 1971, her son, Richard P. Guilbeault who died in 1976 and seven brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, at St. George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, where she was a parishioner for the last eight years. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester.
