WORCESTER/RUTLAND – Judith "Judy" A. McGann, 69, of 1050 Main Street, Worcester died peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, February 25, 2011 at UMass Memorial Healthcare-Memorial Campus, Worcester, after a long illness.
She leaves two sons, Robert L Asplund and his wife Melissa of Williamsport, Pennsylvania and Russell D. Asplund with whom she lived; three loving grandchildren, Robert, Danyel and Conrad; four sisters, Mary Hanlan of Shrewsbury, Virginia LaPlante of Sutton, Christine White of Webster and Janice Hess of New Hampshire; many nephews and nieces. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of James and Alice (Quinn) McGann, was raised in Rutland, and later lived 24 years in Williamsport before moving to Worcester in 1994.
Judy graduated from Wachusett Regional High School in 1961and worked at Norton Company in Worcester for several years. In her youth, she enjoyed dancing, bowling and skiing. She was a loving and caring person and will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Judy's family from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1st at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. A private graveside service for Judy will be held in the spring at Rural Cemetery, Rutland.
