HOLDEN - Judith M. (Hoyle) Bashaw of Holden passed peacefully at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester on February 19, 2023 at age 83.
Judi grew up in Oakdale (West Boylston), attending Oakdale Methodist Church, and graduating with honors from Wachusett Regional High School in 1956, where she was inducted into the National Honor Society. In her working life, she was a professional bookkeeper, getting her start at The Hoyle Press. She was an avid horseshoe player and always enjoyed a good game of darts. During retirement, she became a talented crafter in many fields, including knitting, painting, and especially gardening. She was well known for her plant expertise. She was a member of the Sterling Garden Club, Sterling Extension, and Paxton Council on Aging. She was an enthusiastic Patriots fan.
Born to Chester S. And Eunice M. Hoyle in Worcester, she is survived by her brother Robert E. (Janet) Hoyle, sister Carol J. Hoyle (John) Ballard, brother Chester C. (Marilyn) Hoyle, seven step-children, Larry (Debbie) Bashaw, Judy (Rich) Kennedy, Gary Bashaw, George Bashaw Jr., Joannie (Araj) Akbarieh, Michael (Laurie) Bashaw, Glenn (Ingrid) Bashaw, a sister-in-law Jane (Tom) Phelan, and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Kelli J. Ballard. She was also very close to and loved by Bob and Janet’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also leaves her best friends Denise Bartlett and Barbara Guido and many dear friends at Colony Homes in Holden and beyond. Judi was predeceased by her husband George W. Bashaw, her first husband Henry J. (Hank) Amons, and her parents.

Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 26, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden, followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date at the High Plains Cemetery in Oakdale. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to an animal rescue or animal shelter of your choice.
