RUTLAND – Wilfred J. Senecal, 85, of Main Street, died Monday, July 20, 2009 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester.
His wife of 61 years, Eleanor M. (Barry) Senecal, died in November of 2008. He is survived by his son, William S. Senecal and his wife Ellen of Rutland; a daughter, Carol Senecal of Madison, TN; four grandchildren, Ryan, Kara, William J. and James Senecal; and several nephews and nieces. A sister, Ruth Adams, predeceased him.
Mr. Senecal was born in Worcester, the son of Wilfred J. and Nora A. (King) Senecal. He attended Worcester Boys Trade, was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre, and was a guard for the White House. He worked at several-area Oldsmobile dealerships in Worcester including Gallo Motors. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and was an avid bowler. His life motto was "Stay very loose" and his advice was, "Stay out of the hot sun."
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 23rd, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street (Rte. 122A), Holden. The funeral will be held on Friday, July 24th, from the funeral home with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick's Church, Main Street, Rutland. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery, Main Street, Rutland. Memorial donations may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Development Office, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
